Infrastructure and Technical Support Engineer- +8 / Asia time zones or GMT (UTC) - 8 / US time zones, Blockchain
About Clearmatics
Clearmatics is a blockchain protocol engineering company that builds decentralised financial market infrastructures that are more open, efficient, and resilient than those serving legacy market structures of today.
We have a bold vision for this new market infrastructure - enabling market participants to solve currently unaddressed problems of the real economy, including “missing markets” problems. We aim to achieve our vision through technologies that allow peer-to-peer trading and settlement within new markets, and with digital assets whose values track real-world risk factors that currently have no suitable expression in legacy markets.
No matter the nature of a risk factor, whether macro-economic or relating to real-world metrics such as climate data, our mission is to make important risk factors tradable; by anyone, anywhere, without reliance on financial intermediaries. We are building this new infrastructure in collaboration with incredible trading and blockchain communities.
Clearmatics was founded in 2015, and we have ever since been committed advocates of Open Source development, and active participants in the blockchain and cryptography research communities. We’ve also been an active participant and supporter of decentralized infrastructure initiatives including Enterprise Ethereum Alliance.
We’re growing our team and are looking for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join us and become part of our journey.
Our stack is Ethereum-like, so familiarity with – and passion for – the space is key.
Some of the areas we tackle include blockchain infrastructure optimized for financial use-cases, protocols for specific applications (such as smart contract-based derivatives, synthetic assets, cryptocurrency stabilization, …), scalability and privacy through cryptography (zkSNARKs, multiparty computation, private transactions/assets).

- Availability in a time zone different from UK/Europe - i.e. Asia or Americas
- Blockchain Node operations (monitoring, fixing/debugging, provisioning, issue management, test & diagnosis), with progressive use of automation
- Community involvement on Node operations questions (handling questions, triaging issues)
- Non-node infra support (backups; DNS admin; websites; CI/CD pipelines / automation; advice & support to team members)
- Support Autonity users in Discord, Github, and other community spaces to resolve their technical issues
- Escalate new issues to the Autonity development team and follow them through to resolution
- Assist the Autonity development team with testing and reproducing issues and gathering diagnostic information
- Support the creation and maintenance of documentation (both tech doc, and process)
- Assist with diagnosing application, network, or system performance problems and bottlenecks
Requirements - Must have
- Good understanding of Layer 1 blockchain protocols and Ethereum in particular
- Experience with EVM blockchain systems (deployment of smart contracts, understanding of Ethereum gas model, understanding of PoW vs PoS, …) – not necessarily professional experience
- Ability to work GMT (UTC) +8 / Asia time zones or GMT (UTC) - 8 / US time zones
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills to handle client/user facing communications
- 2+ years hands-on system administration experience with critical Linux infrastructure and networks, including monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting, in an environment that makes extensive use of automation, scripting, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies
- Demonstrated ability take a proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving while maintaining high-quality documentation of processes, issues, and solutions
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux system internals, TCP/IP, and debugging tools
Nice to have
- Demonstrated involvement in Open source projects, blockchain-related communities and online spaces
- Experience with Linux performance engineering
- Python, Solidity, or Go (Golang) programming experience

- Sitemate’s founders have erse backgrounds - one with coming from engineering on major infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges and tunnels, the second coming from product and graphic design. This brings a unique perspective internally where we blend deep industry experience with a passion (obsession) for modern best practices in product design.
- Sitemate graduated from Australia’s #1 Technology Company Accelerator - Startmate (complete coincidence on the names… 😅).
- Sitemate has strong financial backing from Blackbird (Australia and NZ’s #1 Vc) and Shearwater Growth Capital (founded by two Directors of WiseTech - a $14B software company for the logistics industry).
What is the working environment like at Sitemate?
- We are very transparent - monthly allhands meetings provide the team with direct insight into team updates, customer stories, hiring plans and key metrics (NPS, Revenue, Financial Performance). During this allhands meeting we also hear one ‘life story’ from one of our team each month - learning about different countries and cultures around the world.
- We place an extremely high value on your time - you won’t be spending your days wasting time on fighting internal systems, botched together spreadsheet processes or doing data entry.
- We use best in class systems that are seamlessly integrated to deliver our team the right information at the right time, allowing them to get their work done efficiently and to a very high standard.
- You will have a core and close team around you, but you will also be exposed to and working directly with multiple departments - engineering, product, design, marketing, sales and customer success.
- You will have a high degree of autonomy, as the focus is on outcomes and not hours. If you want to block off a few hours to run a personal errand - no worries. If you want to block off an hour to pick up the kids from school - no worries. No one will be monitoring your time.
- We are constantly working to minimise the number of group meetings - daily check ins are all done asynchronously (in your own time) each morning. But spontaneous 1:1s or small sessions are strongly encouraged!
What does Sitemate do, exactly?
- Sitemate builds best in class software products for the built world.
- Industrial companies operating in the built world are facing a number of mission critical challenges - changes in work behaviour due to covid-19, Generation Z starting to enter the workforce as mobile first users of software, and the drastic shift away from traditional mining to renewable energy projects such as wind farms and solar farms.
- See here an example wind farm project that is powered by Sitemate: https://roadbridge.ie/projects/beinn-an-tuirc-windfarm-phase-3/
- See here an example solar farm project that is powered by Sitemate: https://newenglandsolarfarm.com.au/the-project/
- Our first product - Dashpivot, is a platform where industrial style companies streamline and standardise their processes in a new digital format. This new digital format enables them to complete and track work in the field on a mobile or tablet, and automate repetitive tasks and tracking through automated workflows and real-time analytics.

- Work with the mobile team on our two mobile products & their backends - developing new features, fixing bugs, re-architecting core components functions.
- Help set and ensuring all work is working towards the technical vision.
- Working closely with our delivery team (product owner & QA Engineers), product team and broader engineering team. As a senior engineer, you will be expected to coordinate the mobile projects and will be a point of contact for our CTO and CEO.
- Assisting our delivery team with diagnosing any production issues by investigating bugsnag and datadog logs, and then creating hotfix releases accordingly.
What will be the biggest challenges for me in this role?
- As you will be working directly with our CTO (a former founder) and our Founder/CEO, you will need to be able to manage communication, problem solving and your own technical execution/contributions.
- You will need to be acutely aware of your own productivity and ensure that you are always driving towards outcomes that will impact users.
- Our mobile products seem simple to our users, but contain a high degree of technical complexity - from shared components across multiple mobile apps, to backend services that only serve the mobile client - there will be a lot to learn.
- We will be completely re-architecting our product’s hierarchy in the next 12 months from a rigid tree/folder structure to a flexible tree/folder structure, which will nearly certainly require refactoring every part of our product 🙃.
What kind of skills and experience do I need to have? (Ideally most but not all)
- Javascript/Typescript experience is preferred.
- React Native experience is preferred.
- Node, Serverless & AWS experience a bonus.
- MongoDB & DynamoDB experience is a bonus.
- Native mobile experience is a bonus (as per above, we are planning on forking a portion of our React Native app to enable the usage of native components for multimedia uploading).
FAQs
What does the application and interview process look like? And how long does it take?
Once you have expressed interest, we have an online application form that is connected to our internal systems. Following on from this, we have a combination of an online self service quiz and interviews. Usually it will only take a day or two to hear an update on next steps, and the overall process for those who make it all the way through, will usually take a couple of weeks.

About us
Epsilamic Solutions is expanding its digital experience agency branch. As a technical and creative partner to small businesses and high-growth startups, we help our clients build delightful customer experiences and set up their internal technical processes for success.
Throughout the last few years, we’ve worked with a erse set of customers, from boutique hotels to startups founded by Y Combinator alumni.
We are a very lean team with a startup mentality and a laser focus on customer outcomes, getting things done and bringing out the best of each other’s talents at work, while maintaining a positive, inclusive, and fun attitude in our work culture.
Epsilamic is a remote company, headquartered in Canada, with most of the work being done during EST/PST timezones. High autonomy, clear and friendly communication, and transparency are some of our most important core values, to make the most of async work in a distributed team.
Our current technical stack
- React, TypeScript, Next.js, Webpack+Babel build toolchain (non-CRA)
- Python, Chalice (serverless framework), SQLAlchemy,
- AWS, a lot of AWS Lambda but we also have projects that involve Dockerized APIs
- understanding how IAM roles work will be very helpful on some projects
- at this point, knowledge of lower-level AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3) is much more important than any knowledge of Amplify, Beanstalk, etc
- Postgres, DynamoDB
- Contentful (headless CMS)
Note that this is some of our currently most-frequently used technologies. All of this is subject to change very fast (and a lot of that change may very well end up being the influence of your future work with us!).
We understand that it's impractical to ask that our new teammates come in with the exact same tech stack as what we use. If you already have experience with this stack - that's amazing. If not - that's totally okay, but we will ask you to pick up/study our tech stack and expect that you can get comfortable with it in a matter of a week or so.
Our work culture
- We are a startup
- Remote-first, async work with high autonomy
- Regular team meetings over Zoom with video
- We value our teammates' happiness over rigid process
- We welcome initiative, new ideas and collaborative decision making
- With that said, if we get stuck in committee-decision-making, we believe in a Disagree-and-Commit approach
- We value courage to explore changes, pivots, and uncharted territories outside of our comfort zone
- We challenge established status-quo of the world when we think we can make it better
- We value our failures as a learning opportunity to help us grow
- We value our successes as an opportunity to show gratitude towards each other, and to remember what worked well
- We value long-term sustainable strategy over "heroism", all-nighters and burn-out. We'll be here for a very long time.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a mid-level full-stack software developer, preferably with a slightly stronger emphasis on the front-end part of the stack, to join our team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Implementing the front-end for various projects, given UI designs/wireframes and technical guidelines
- Improving our core UI technical platform by developing component libraries and documenting best practices
- Implementing the back-end for some of our projects in collaboration with a senior staff member
- Researching, recommending and helping our team adopt new tools, libraries and frameworks
- Together with the technical lead, participating in meetings with customers to provide technical context to discussions and to refine timeline/effort estimations
- Participating in regular stand-ups, sprint planning meetings with the team, as well as being available for collaborative Zoom work sessions (with reasonable notice - we're still mostly async).
This role is currently part-time (20h / week) with a possibility of being extended to full-time in the long-term future, based on the performance of both of the candidate and the company. Ideally, we are looking for a motivated technologist, who would be interested in growing together with the team over a long period of time. Depending on future company performance, there may also be a great opportunity for a more involved senior leadership role.
Please note that this position is currently aimed at independent contractors/freelancers only - this is not employment (at least, for now).
Please also note that due to some slight confusion regarding RemoteOK's guidelines, the annual salary maximum specified on this job posting is the "full-time equivalent" (i.e. what we'd be paying if we were hiring on a full-time basis). The annual salary minimum is what we'd be paying for part-time (half of the full-time equivalent). While it is possible that we may offer a conversion to full-time in the future, we are currently hiring for part-time only (i.e. you'd get $30-35K a year, and you'd work ~20h/week).
Detailed requirements
On the technical side, you’d be a great fit if you’re comfortable with the following:
Frontend
- A solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals in the context of modern web applications
- At least 2-5 years of experience with React (preferred), Vue, Angular or a similar component framework

We’re backed by leading VC’s including Lightspeed Venture Partners and DCM, a number of the world’s most influential social impact investors like Flourish and Sound, and several mission driven celebrity investors like Kevin Durant and Ashton Kutcher! If autonomy, ownership, and having meaningful input at the company you work for is important to you, come join our growing team!
Brigit is doing innovative and exciting work, but don’t just take our word for it, our work is being recognized by others:
- Built In’s 2023 Best Startups to Work For In New York City
- Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2022
- Forbes Fintech 50 2022
- Business Insider’s Most Promising Consumer Startups 2022
Brigit is looking for a Frontend Engineer to help us scale our next-gen consumer finance platform. Our product has tremendous traction helping 1 million+ low income Americans make ends meet. We’ve built beautifully designed, user-centric mobile and web clients with React (including React Native) and TypeScript, but we need help in making them even more user friendly & extensible.
As we approach our next phase of growth, we’re scoping out new products and features helping our users save more and improve their credit options – in short, better equipping them along their financial journey. You’ll have the opportunity to leverage the platform of our current frontend & backend base to build these new products from the ground up for millions of users. Financial products often come with difficult user challenges, and if you’re excited by the idea of reconstructing difficult concepts into easy-to-use interfaces and products for end-users, then this is the right role for you.
Our engineering team has two main goals:
1) Ship Features supporting numerous external and internal applications. The next generation of our product may look nothing like what it does today – and we welcome that! The degree to which we design and create new features (and even new products) for users, architect our frontend-backend communications, implement design-to-development processes will make or break our success.
2) Scalability & Maintainability of our user-facing applications. Growing from 100k users to 10 million presents unique technical challenges. Because we’re growing so quickly, the efficiency and reliability of both our customer facing and internal tools needs to improve. In addition to creating new features, we have many tasks to tackle including the creation and upkeep of components & libraries, REST API design, testing & QA processes, and CI/CD enhancements.
The engineering team is small and nimble; you’ll get an extraordinary amount of autonomy and ownership. More importantly, you’ll have a large say in the direction of the company — both in terms of our technology and our product. One of our greatest strengths is the speed with which we can move. If you want to propose a new way of doing things, we are all ears. If you have an idea for a new feature, we’ll be open to it. A new design paradigm? Bring it on.
At Brigit you’ll find engineering best practices inspired by our experiences at Palantir, Amazon, Two Sigma, a mature CI/CD process, an easy-to-use local/staging/production development environment, and teammates willing to fill in the gaps. We automate manual things so we can focus on thinking and building something that truly helps people.
What You Have
- 3+ years of full-time experience in the React (including React Native) & JavaScript ecosystem
- Experience using HTML & CSS to create beautiful interfaces
- Up-to-date grasp of the constantly evolving JS language standards, ES6 and beyond

- TypeScript or other compile-to-JS language is a plus; Fullstack/Backend experience (esp. in Java) is a plus; quantitative skills, knowledge or experience in Finance is a plus
- You are a self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work independently and manage multiple projects under minimal supervision
- Experience building UI/UX for new features from end-to-end
- The ability to rebuild an internal dashboard from scratch which greatly enhances our internal customer success team’s efficiency
What You’ll Be Doing
- Implementing interaction and motion design for more delightful user experiences
- Unifying our component and styling libraries to be shared across our mobile and web clients
- Automating visual testing & visual regression detection processes
- Creating new mobile & web clients for upcoming products
- Work with the Product & Design teams to spec, build, and ship a new Financial Health Score feature
- A/B testing and optimizing features that boost our business’ bottom line

berlinengineerfull-timeremote - europerust
- Novel problems and challenging technical tasks in a cutting edge field within the blockchain sector.
- Senior engineering role focused on low-level programming for distrbuted system software.
- Open and friendly culture with regular informal activities, annual offsite, and benefits.
- 2 week iteration cycle and in-person PR reviews.
- Relocation packages available.
You can read more about Chainflip Labs and the team culture here.
What do we do?
Chainflip is a protocol that uses multi-party-computation and threshold signature schemes to allow our decentralised validator network to secure assets across multiple arbitrarily differentiated blockchain networks, with the ultimate goal of allowing users to swap between various cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchains in a trustless and programmatic way.
This is a real engineering challenge, one that we’ve been working on for over two years. It is a multidisciplinary exercise in distributed systems, decentralised finance, blockchain consensus mechanisms, cyber security, applied cryptography, and front end tooling. Our engineering team of 15 is on the lookout for additional people to tackle this challenge with us. We’re mostly based in Berlin, Germany.
What’s the Job?
This role is open to a European based software engineer who has strong experience in the particulars of Rust. We require someone who specialises in low-level optimisation, error handling, and can aide and advise the team and dealing with the subtlties and nuances of the language. Experience in a similar C based programming language, such as C++, or any strictly typed language is also a plus. Apparently we are one of the few companies in Europe who have built the entire backend in Rust from day one, so that’s neat.
We have multiple possible roles within our backend engineering team, all rust-based.
Your skills will be put towards these main areas:
- The Chainflip Engine: this sidecar binary works in tandem with the State Chain to power our decentralised threshold signature protocol, and to witness events happening in the outside world. An in-depth knowledge of the challenges of distributed systems, networking protocols, cryptography, and Rust’s async features (specifically the tokio stack) would be great to have.
- The State Chain: we are developing our own standalone blockchain using the substrate blockchain development framework. Previous experience of working with complex type systems would be beneficial here, as would some knowledge of how blockchains work internally, but not nescessary.
About the Rest of the Company
We are a Berlin-centric team with our own office space in the heart of Kreuzberg, but we have remote workers throughout Europe, a new office in Dublin, and a team in Melbourne, Australia. We meet up as a whole team twice a year, have a very open and flexible culture, and enjoy meaningful personal connections with one another. Our team has a erse range of backgrounds and experiences to share, and hopefully you’ll be able to share yours with us too.
Our growing engineering team is run by Dr Martin Reike, an experienced CTO with plenty of blockchain related engineering and leadership experience. With him, the Rust, Web, and Devops team lead the charge on all things technical for Chainflip. The company is led by CEO Simon Harman, and he works closely with half a dozen operations and communications staff in Berlin and abroad to power the team and it’s product goals.
Who Should Apply?
If you’re based in Europe and/or willing to relocate to Berlin, have at least 3 years of professional experience as a Rust engineer, and over 6 years in software engineering more broadly, and are excited about new and exciting challenges that will push the boundaries of your knowledge in software, this is the role for you.
Salaries and Token packages are on offer that are commensurate with skill and experience. Please indicate your expected salary range when applying, and we will take that into consideration during the interview process.
The Process
Please submit your CV to for review. A screening call will be conducted by our operations manager. For our engineering or technical roles, the next stage is either a 2-3 hour takehome task or a 1hr remote real-time code interview run by our existing engineering team in a language of your choice. Following this you will have a more informal meeting with some other members of the team, including the CTO. From there, if successful, a final review with the CEO will take place. This whole process can take as little as 1 week for the right candidates.

Infrastructure and Community Support Engineer- +8 / Asia time zones or GMT (UTC) - 8 / US time zones
We’re growing our team and are looking for an Infrastructure and Community Support Engineer to join us and become part of our journey.
Our stack is Ethereum-like, so familiarity with – and passion for – the Ethereum ecosystem is key.

- Blockchain Node operations (monitoring, fixing/debugging, provisioning, issue management, test & diagnosis), with progressive use of automation
- Community involvement on Node operations questions (handling questions, triaging issues)
- Non-node infra support (backups; DNS admin; websites; CI/CD pipelines / automation; advice & support to team members)
- Support the creation and maintenance of documentation (both tech doc, and process)
- Support the engineering team for testing (provide & maintain infra; run tests; scripts; automation)
Requirements - Must have
- Ability to work GMT (UTC) +8 / Asia time zones or GMT (UTC) - 8 / US time zones
- Experience with EVM blockchain systems (deployment of smart contracts, understanding of Ethereum gas model, understanding of PoW vs PoS, …) – not necessarily professional experience
