About: The Role

Location: Remote (US). This is a remote position with the expectation that you will work US hours (EST).

Hours: 9am-6pm EST. Due to Snappy employees being in Tel Aviv, Europe and across the US, we schedule all company-wide meetings and events in EST. Compensation: We feel passionately about transparency in compensation. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $120,000-$170,000 with a target bonus up to 10%.

Here at Snappy, we’re on the search for a Commercial Counsel. You will be an instrumental member of our small but mighty (and growing) legal team! This role includes work in the traditional in-house portfolio such as: negotiating contracts, supporting all departments and functions with legal review and advice, managing risk, and resolving disputes. You will have the opportunity to learn all about and support Snappy’s various lines of business, including: our B2B platform, our B2C platform, and our retail partners and enterprise vendors. We’re looking for someone who is bright, curious, a quick learner, and who is interested in developing a broad understanding of key areas of law that affect our business, such as corporate, commercial, intellectual property, privacy, transactional and compliance. This position will work closely with leaders of other departments to achieve business objectives, mitigate risks, and meet legal obligations as Snappy continues its growth.

You will:

• Provide timely, business-focused advice to all departments, including Sales, Operations, Product, Analytics, Finance, R&D, Marketing and People Teams.
• Help develop and manage a global contracting approach in coordination with the relevant stakeholders to reduce friction, improve efficiency and accelerate the sales process across all regions; revise and maintain MSA templates and playbooks; and provide dedicated support for MSA negotiation and customer diligence requests.
• Review, negotiate and advise on commercial and data privacy agreements and a wide range of other commercial agreements.
• Research novel issues of law and regulatory trends to anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company.
• Be mentored along the way, be challenged to develop your legal and business skills, and be encouraged to engage with your colleagues to enjoy the supportive culture and fun that Snappy has to offer.

About: YOU

You have:

• A JD from an ABA-accredited institution and an active membership in a U.S. state bar in good standing.
• 2-4 years of experience; 2 years of general commercial experience in B2B context and prior in-house experience is preferred, but not required.
• Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating a erse range of commercial agreements.
• The ability to manage projects from inception to completion including engaging relevant stakeholders and providing quality deliverables.

Role Responsibilities:

In this role, you will play an integral role in insurance product development and innovation. You will be responsible for supporting the product compliance team with its preparation and review filings. Day to day, your work may include a review of forms for new and existing insurance products, partnering with the technology team to implement approved filings, Vouch's online product, and assisting with audits and QA of forms. Job Duties:

* Assist with the development, preparation, and submission of form, rate, and rule product filings for Commercial P&C Insurance

* Work cross-functionally with teams across the company to develop the overall filing strategy* Review and analyze state insurance department statutes, regulations, and bulletins to determine filing and regulatory requirements; provide guidance and direction to business units as needed* Work directly with third-parties to draft and complete filings* Assist with problem solving techniques and regulatory concerns* Manage communication and negotiation of filings with the department of insurance that will result in timely approval of company products* Coordinate filing material including transmittals and filing memos with actuarial and product innovation team* Stay current on changes and developments that impact insurance design, development, and filing requirements* Monitor bureau (ISO) circulars to determine the impact of form, loss costs, and rule changes as applicable and communicate action required to implement those changes* Manage master forms list and approved forms library for each applicable program* Perform periodic audits to ensure policy issuance conforms to approved filings* Send monthly filing reports to the carrier

* Working understanding of insurance form, rate, and rule filing process

Salary Range:

The pay range for this role is: $55,000 to $65,000 per year.

• Four-day work week – Monday through Thursday. Meetings will not be scheduled on Fridays and you will only be expected to work that day to deal with a client emergency or to meet a critical deadline.

What We Are Looking For:

• Juris Doctor (“JD”) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• 5-10 years of direct experience in privacy, security, and compliance program management in a consumer-facing corporate environment or negotiating technology-related contracts preferred
• Certified Information Privacy Professional – US (CIPP/US) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is preferred (or similar certification such as CIPM, CIPT, or CIPP/E)
• Experience advising on privacy and data protection, with an understanding of key global privacy regimes, in particular in GDPR and CCPA/CPRA
• Experience negotiating complex commercial contracts

What success looks like in this role:

E-Billing, Outside Counsel / Vendor Management, Technology / Data Management

• Serve as the internal owner of OGC’s e-billing operation, including assisting with onboarding of vendors and outside counsel, management and enforcement of OGC’s Billing Guidelines, and directing outside counsel regarding e-billing and related matters.
• Ensure that OGC has updated and reliable data in its case management software.

Reporting directly to the Head of HR, you will work closely with the Compliance, Regulations, AdminOps, and Operations Teams to drive strategy for our legal geographic expansion processes such as state licenses, city registrations, project permits, and customer & subcontractor contracts. Additionally, you may also support decisions and provide guidance around company insurance, review company contracts, track and monitor compliance and advise on legal and compliance issues.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable running a team and building playbooks and lean processes at the ground level.

Responsibilities

• Research and create a strategic plan to meet the national compliance needs which vary by state and city
  • Ensure state/city licenses and registrations are obtained on time to support geo expansion
  • Ensure state and local compliance across customer and sub-contractor contracts pre-geo launch
  • Develop scalable processes for city registrations and project permits with TAT that give us a competitive edge

• Under attorney supervision, you may be asked to draft basic pleadings and correspondence, interview potential witnesses, and assist with investigations, strong communication and writing skills are a must.
• Under attorney supervision, you may serve as a point of contact for our clients in both complex litigation and direct representation. Your tasks may include conducting intake interviews, scheduling legal calls, and helping to update clients on the status of our advocacy.

Your work may include reviewing and coding evidence for pending cases, conducting basic, factual research, and drafting program-related outreach; so, you will need to be able to internalize the aspects and needs of a project on both a macro and micro level.
• Computer + social media skills. The paralegal will do web-based research and use Microsoft programs, scheduling platforms, and specialized litigation software. You will also be involved with social media strategy—including staying engaged in the movement landscape, uplifting others’ posts and creating original content for the project.
• Ability to work well with other people and alone. Under attorney supervision, the ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with potential and current clients, court personnel, cooperating and opposing counsel, and the wide variety of people who contact our organization. While teamwork is really important at CREEC, you’ll also do well here if you’re a self-starter within parameters defined by attorney supervisors. You’ll have opportunities to take ownership of projects that are assigned to you and to suggest strategies, so you should be willing to take initiative, and work independently when advised. Lastly, although we try to maintain contact with our team through email, chats, and weekly check-ins, this is a remote position that lacks the in-person interaction that one would get if working with colleagues in a physical office. The ideal candidate will be aware of and comfortable with the unique challenges of a remote environment, including in onboarding, fostering connection and collaboration with a long-distance team, and time management.

Salary & Benefits

This is a non-exempt hourly position, with a 7.5 hr work day and 37.5-hour work week. A paralegal in the Denver area, with 5 years’ experience, would have a pay rate of $34.68/hr. Actual pay is commensurate with internal pay scales at CREEC, and is based on years’ experience, geographic location of the candidate, and other factors.

Job Description

Purpose

The Legal Assistant is responsible for providing advanced paraprofessional and administrative duties for the Legal Department with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, discretion and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage legal matter management, e-billing and analytics tool
• Assist with the management of corporate governance
• Provide administrative and clerical support for all general office duties within the Legal department including but not limited to: coordination or execution of special projects, handling of phone calls, calendar management, travel arrangements, expense reporting and management, scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, conferences, onboarding new employees, submitting security requests, department event planning, creating and socializing meeting agendas, manage department invoices and check requests, attorney memberships, subscriptions, CLE registration, record management, maintain department contact lists, etc.
• Prepare routine correspondence, proofread and organize litigation-related and transactional documents such as pleadings, discovery documents and due diligence materials, compose routine letters and memoranda, and route, answer, or approve correspondence not requiring escalated attention
• Manage shared email boxes within the Legal department including responding to or triaging emails, reviewing marketing materials and member record requests received via subpoenas
• Manage the administrative responsibilities related to the department-owned contracts by maintaining the electronic and physical files, and may include assisting in drafting activities, preparing responses to internal and external inquiries regarding the contracts, and distributing copies of contracts upon request
• Assist with the development and scheduling of Legal training for the organization; writer for the department’s business continuity plan
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED
• 2 years of work experience within Legal and/or Compliance
• 2 years of work experience in an administrative or department coordination role
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate needs and self-direct to ensure accountabilities are fulfilled; Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (inclusive of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
• Expert level attention to detail with previous experience consolidating information from various sources into executive summaries, spreadsheets, presentations and reports
• Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information
• Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships internally and externally, at all levels of an organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in business or a legal secretary certification by an accredited organization; HS diploma or GED is required
• 5 years of work experience in an administrative, department coordination, Legal or Compliance related role with at least 2 years experience working within a Legal department, law firm, government agency, or other related entity
• Significant working knowledge of, and experience applying Legal terminology, Board practices, and E-Billing with Tracker
• Experience with SAP, Concur, C360, SharePoint
• Previous experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management, managed care or other healthcare organization

Reporting Structure

• Reports to Sr Professional in the Legal department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $24.38 – $36.30 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.

Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a REMOTE Corporate Paralegal to join a midsize Chicago law firm that is recognized nationally! This is a full time, permanent position, 35 hour work week, REMOTE and/or HYBRID schedule (in office 1 day a week if located in Chicago), full benefits, and competitive compensation (up to $110K-120K+)!

Skills required and Job Duties include the following:

• At minimum 5+ years of Corporate Law experience
• Prepare drafts of bond resolutions and ordinances and coordinate financing schedules with clients
