About Us
At Levro (YC S21), our mission is to build the financial backbone for global commerce. We are building financial infrastructure to allow any company to frictionlessly expand to any country. We help companies avoid complex/costly conversions, by holding 30+ different currencies in one US bank account. This means they can receive and pay funds internationally as if they had a local bank account, and our FX conversion fees are 4-8x cheaper than traditional banks.
Opening a bank account abroad as a business can be really hard: it can take up to 6 months in the UK, and you often even need to fly to Canada to open a Canadian bank account! Once accounts are open, banks charge high fees to convert between currencies, and the setup can be complicated to administer.
We closed an oversubscribed seed round from incredible fintech investors and operators, including YCombinator and the founders of Yahoo, Eventbrite, Monzo and others. We're 2x YC founders and experienced operators - Cathy founded a big data SaaS business that processed over $4bn in transactions, and Abeer built a hedge fund with over $1.5bn in AUM. As immigrant founders, we want to build the best global business bank, to give makers access to more markets and make finance as global as commerce.
Role Description:
As an early Product Designer, you will drive the look, feel, and flow of our product. You’ll work closely with a team of experienced engineers to tackle the visual and UX flow in culture empathizes with our customers, users, and other team members.
What You'll do:
* Take our product from 0 to 1 by owning the entire design stack - from specs to workflows, from interactions to high fidelity visuals
* Work closely with the founders to influence, develop, and implement product design and roadmap* Develop subject matter expertise in areas like international banking, card issuing, and machine learning for lending* Prototype multiple visual and UX concepts, and drive the process to identify the right design choices for our product* Pitch in on many surprising, daily challenges that come up in an early-stage start upWhat We're Looking For:
* 5+ years of design, with at least 2+ years in product design
* Experience designing complicated systems for non-technical users across multiple form factors (desktop, mobile, etc)* Strong sense of design aesthetic* Low ego, highly intelligent, quick learner eager to roll up your sleeves and tackle any tasks - big or small.* Experience in working in financial services is nice, but by no means a requirement.",

In this crucial role, you will drive the adoption, expansion, and results of our new title customers through in-depth implementation and project management. This means you’ll manage the onboarding of a handful of enterprise key accounts while simultaneously improving our approach.
You will engage hands-on with customers in this role, but you’ll also develop processes, tools, and collateral to make our customer onboarding processes more efficient and simple as the business grows. You will gather feedback from customers on platform strengths, challenges, and opportunities, and champion that feedback to stakeholders and product teams. Snapdocs powers homeownership. Using technology, we’re building the connective tissue for an entire pillar of the U.S. economy: residential real estate.
Today, we’re working to perfect mortgage closings, but that’s only the beginning. Before Snapdocs, no one felt responsible or empowered to solve the problems we face every day we come to the office.
It's complex and difficult work, and the result is not an app we brag about at tech industry parties. Instead, we're making a difference and carefully building a team that shares our priorities—pragmatism, respect and empathy for our clients, and building honest products that improve all our users’ lives.

Speed comes with pros and cons, but we like experiencing firsthand what does and doesn’t work. And the team is very open to new insights, so it’s a great place to grow.
Our transition from Ruby to Go is one example of how we make intentional decisions for our existing and future engineers. Go met a need and resolved a gap, especially compared to other popular languages like Python. Go offered a language syntactically closer to Ruby with several of the advantages of C. We wanted to experiment with types and compiled languages while seamlessly integrating with our existing architecture. Read more about how we’re accomplishing this transformation here: https://medium.com/@hannahjtran?p=917d5a7f796
In addition, there’s a lot of interesting stuff happening in the backend as well as the data science and DevOps side of the house. We’re using machine learning for things like classifying documents and adding annotations that make a valuable difference. DevOps is working to proactively scale the future demands of our deployment infrastructure to ensure that the work we do creates immediate enjoyment for our customers.
Throughout our interview process, candidates do not need to come in with a particular tech stack. Instead, our process prioritizes people with a learner’s mindset, eager and curious to grow. We build time into your onboarding process so that you’ll be able to ramp up on our technologies, infrastructure, and where engineering plays a crucial role in the overall business goals of the company.
Our ethos to recruiting is engrained in the industry experience of our leadership. A culture of mentorship is key to making our teams work together successfully. We know that any hyper growth startup experiences the struggles of what it’s like to scale teams. We prioritize holistic growth and trust to ensure career development is not interrupted by attempting to onboard 50 engineers all at once!

Clients have come to respect and trust you for your ability to simply communicate complex ideas, ask great questions, listen to various perspectives, and prescribe the best course of action. Similarly, your team views you as a hyper-effective person who can dig into the weeds, pull up to connect back to strategy, and generally “gets stuff done.”

About Culdesac
Our cities should be celebrated. They have been the largest driver of innovation in human history. But somewhere along the way, things broke and our quality of life suffered. We built our lives around our cars as cookie-cutter housing popped up around the country. Sprawl became commonplace, and we normalized hour-long commutes, even as private vehicle ownership became the largest source of carbon emission pollution. We became more isolated and felt less connected to each other. It doesn't have to be this way.
We're building cities for people, not cars. Our team blends technology, real estate, and culture to reimagine our daily lives. We come from different backgrounds to bring a fresh perspective on what's possible. As a team, we keep a pulse on our community and what they need. We ride our e-bikes to lunch, host pop-ups on construction sites and make 16-acre cornstarch art pieces. We cultivate these relationships and bring our community closer together so they can experience the neighborhood they deserve.
About the role
Culdesac's mission is to build cities for people, not cars. We're the first post-car real estate developer, and our goal is to build the first car-free city in the US. We're starting with the first car-free neighborhood built from scratch - that's Culdesac Tempe, a 1000-person neighborhood.
All of this draws from a core insight: the way we move defines the way we live. And the way we move is changing fast, with countless ways to get around today beyond private cars. Here's more.
Business Operations at Culdesac is a high impact role where you will have the ability to help shape the direction of the company. This is a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary role. You'll lead or support various initiatives based on the needs of the business. Your role is to be an effective generalist. You ramp up quickly in this fast-paced, growing environment. You solve problems. And you empower others to do their best work. The prototypical background for bizops is consulting, finance, or another startup. But we have seen successful bizops candidates come from everywhere.
Here's a post from one of our founders on recruiting Opendoor's original bizops team. It gives some more context on how we think about bizops talent.
How you will make an impact:
- You will drive strategic company alignment on cross-functional topics.
- You are able to be self-directed on ad-hoc projects and support across the company.
- You will lead creation, identification, and analysis of key metrics to drive business insights.
- You explore and analyze new growth opportunities.
- You will create and deliver compelling presentations.
- Finally, you are willing to roll-up your sleeves and do whatever is required to make this the journey of a lifetime!
How you will be successful:
- You are a driven, ambitious person with an innate sense of humility.
- You have prior experience in finance/consulting/startup preferred.
- You have top-notch written and oral communication skills.
- You have the ability to think strategically and analytically.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment, eager to lend a hand where needed.
- You have the ability to communicate and work effectively with all types of people, bringing creativity and fun but also able to take control and call the shots when needed.
- You are highly fluent with data and dashboards.
- You can juggle many complex projects, all with strict deadlines, simultaneously.
- You have 1-2 years of experience in a generalist role.
Why you'll love being part of the Culdesac Team:
- We work as a team: We are inclusive, drawing on the strengths of people who bring a different perspective. We find ways to work together that overcome disciplinary and geographic separations.
- We are driven, humble, and ambitious: Our mission is to build cities for people, not cars. We are doing this through hard work, asking for feedback along the way, and seeing our work through to the end, including the last 10%.
- We have a caring, supportive, and honest culture: We get to know one another, we support our community together, we have fun together, we even have Culdesac talent shows!
- We are revolutionizing the real estate landscape: Are you ready to be part of this transformation?
Culdesac is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate ersity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
Technology
We're using Django, GraphQL, Apollo, React, and Typescript to build top-notch property management and mobility solutions for our future residents.
We're looking for talented engineers who can scope, implement, and ship complex engineering projects on time. Contact us if you're excited about the opportunity to create and own Culdesac's technical roadmap!

✨ Our Culture
TL&DR - Pulley is not a good fit for everyone, and that’s OK.This is a bit about the culture of Pulley. We need people who aren’t just interested in working at a startup; we need people who are excited about building a great company. In addition to function-specific skills, here are some traits that enable our team members to thrive:
*
**Ego-less Learner** -- Every day at Pulley, we are trying things that we’ve never done before - sometimes they work; sometimes they don’t. To be successful here, you need to embrace that feeling of ‘being a beginner’ and be willing to accept feedback in stride. \
*
**Less Talk; More Action** -- Everyone rolls up our sleeves at Pulley. If your strength is being the ‘idea gal or guy’ but you don’t create your own slides or write your own code, then we are not a great fit. \
*
**Prioritize ruthlessly** - Our view is that being a[10x engineer](\"https://www.ybrikman.com/writing/2013/09/29/the-10x-developer-is-not-myth/\") is not about writing more code; it’s about making the right decision on what to build. We’re hiring people who can make the right strategic decisions on where to spend their time.\
We’re also inspired by the culture work done at other companies and plan to develop our own playbook here too. One of the concepts that resonate most with us is the importance ofstunning colleagues.
If you like the sound of our environment and you’re passionate about joining a team like the one we’ve described, we'd love to talk!

Technology
Our backend system provides API endpoints through microservices, most of which are written in Python. Our tech stack includes Docker, Postgresql, ElasticSearch, Kubernetes, flask, nginx, terraform, and AWS services such as EC2, S3, SQS, and ECS.
Our front-end is mostly written in ES6. Our tech stack includes React, Redux, and Flow. We use mocha, chai, enzyme, and selenium for testing. We use webpack for packaging, and docker for containerization. And we’re constantly trying new tools and practices to be the best we can.
About Nimbus
Nimbus delivers powerful, flexible, and consistent dev environments through the IDEs developers are already using. We're taking the mega-cap (Amazon, Google) approach to dev environments and making it available to everyone else.
How does it work? Developers work on lightning fast cloud machines without having to setup or manage their dev environment. Teams can easily spin up, update and fan out updates globally while creating a more productive and flexible work environment (e.g. more power, work from any machine, cut test/build times, etc.).
About the role
Skills: Go, GraphQL, MySQL, Redis, TypeScript
About Nimbus
Nimbus is a cloud development environment platform that delivers pre-configured environments to engineers through the tools and editors they already use.
Imagine joining a new team and being able to jump in and start writing code on day 1 without the frustration of setting up your dev environment. Or being able to grab a coffee or lunch without worrying about your long-running process getting killed if your laptop goes to sleep or is closed. Or, how about, running Docker on your Mac without losing responsiveness and performance?
The biggest tech companies in the world have already figured this out but small and medium-size companies don’t have the time, money, or expertise to build it themselves. That’s where we come in.
We’re building this for everyone else and we’re doing this without dictating how technical teams should work. Rather than ask engineers to massively change their workflow or toolset, we integrate with their local tools to deliver a seamless and stable cloud experience.
About the role
This is our first Backend Engineering hire and we’re looking for someone that can lead and be hands-on. They’ll lead the design, development, and implementation of many aspects of Nimbus’ cloud dev environment platform. Engineers choosing Nimbus are putting a lot of faith in us. If Nimbus doesn’t work - they can’t either. That’s why it’s critical that this engineer hold a high standard for delivering reliable and secure software.
At Nimbus, you will:
- Build and own a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure and backend services
- Drive critical technical decision making - your work determines Nimbus’ architecture
- Be a champion for software quality, performance, and developer experience
- Partner with the founders to build a roadmap that enables our product vision
We’re looking for someone with:
- 5 years or more as a backend software engineer (including full-time internships) and/or worked as a Staff Software Engineer or equivalent
- Experience with Go, Typescript, GraphQL, MySQL, Redis or similar tech stacks
- Experience building or owning systems/components such as web servers, event-driven systems, data pipelines, or distributed systems at scale
- Excellent verbal and written communicator - able to simplify complex concepts and communicate understanding and impacts
- Sets a high bar for quality software from themselves and others
We’d love it if you had:
- Experience building developer tools or B2B products for enterprise
- Experience building services on top of public cloud providers (like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Digital Ocean)
- Experience with infrastructure technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or related technology
What are some of the perks?
- Remote first (we don’t have an office!)
- Competitive salary with equity
- Fully covered health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) plan
- Unlimited time-off
- No bureaucracy; flat structure
Technology
We're currently building on AWS (using step functions, lambda, global accelerators, cloud formation, control towers, EC2, S3, etc.). Our backend is built on Typescript, GraphQL, Go, Prisma, and MySQL. Our webapp uses React, Redux, and Typescript.
We're laser-focused on delivering an incredible developer experience through performance and unlocking better ways of developing through the cloud.
Interview Process
Intro call: 20 min chat with one of the founders to understand your background, career goals, and motivations, and to answer any initial questions you might have Technical interview: 20 min chat exploring a past project or experience followed by a hands-on 40 min exercise - both done with the CTO Take-home assessment and review: We’ll present you with a challenging technical problem that you will work on independently and review with our CTO Meet the rest of the team: Get to know the other founders
