About Portal
At Portal, we're building Shopify for Service Businesses. Our mission is to power the next generation of modern service companies. We help marketing agencies, accounting firms, and many other types of businesses to sell and deliver their services online.
While it is straightforward to set up a Shopify store and sell a physical product on the Internet, entrepreneurs that want to provide a service on the Internet have to stitch together apps and are unable to offer clients a streamlined experience under their own brand. We want to change this by giving service businesses the building blocks (messaging, payments, etc.) to design their own product and offer their clients a modern streamlined experience.
In February 2022, we raised a $10M seed round led by Ali Rowghani at YC Continuity and Lachy Groom. Other investors include Y Combinator, Liquid 2, Tribe, Addition, Slope, YC partner and Scribd founder Jared Friedman, former SVP Product at Lyft Ran Makavy, and Pipe founders Zain Allarakhia and Josh Mangel.
About the role
At Portal, we're building Shopify for Service Businesses. We want to make it easy for entrepreneurs anywhere to start and scale service businesses: marketing agencies, bookkeeping firms, recruiting agencies, and thousands of others.

About the role
We believe video is the most powerful format to tell stories about our customers and deliver educational content. Since Portal is a set of building blocks that can be combined in creative ways by almost any kind of business, we want to show our audience what is possible. And since we serve so many types of companies — from agencies to online therapists, tutoring businesses, and 100s others — we think that there is a massive opportunity to share specific tutorials catered towards specific types of businesses. To get a sense of what we're looking to do, two companies that we believe have executed an A+ video strategy are Glide and Webflow.
In this role you'll work directly with the CEO, meet our customers, become an expert on the product, and lead the entire video creation process — research, scripting, production, voiceovers, motion graphics, editing, and more. We don't expect you to be an expert in all of these areas, and you'll have the ability to pull in contractors if we need difficult shots, expensive equipment, challenging motion graphics, or other support.
Who you are
You're passionate about teaching. You love deconstructing and teaching complex topics. You have a portfolio of content you can point to.
You're passionate about learning. You love independently learning new things and have excellent attention to detail.
You're experienced. You have 4+ years of experience in video production—scripting, recording, voiceovers, motion graphics, editing, etc. (the more the better!).
What you'll do
You'll become an expert about Portal. In order to write scripts and create compelling videos, you have to understand the product inside-out.
You'll research. You'll get to know many of our customers and understand the problems they are solving with Portal. You'll also research the industries we serve and the other products our customers use together with Portal.
You'll own the video production process. You'll write scripts, produce and edit videos, do voiceovers, incorporate design assets, create motion graphics, and more. If you are an expert in some of these areas, but not all, you'll be responsible for bringing on contractors and agencies to fill the gaps.
You'll collaborate with design. A large fraction of our video content will include the product. You'll thus need to work closely with our designer, use Figma, and design motion graphics to showcase UI flows.
You'll produce incredible videos. Some of our favorites are this or this.

About the role
As a BDR, you will be the tip of the spear for growth at Portal. You will generate qualified pipeline so that sales can help our customers deploy successfully with Portal. You will identify key accounts to target, engage with them in a tailored way, and uncover their business and technical challenges so that you can effectively position how Portal can solve for them. We move quickly, so you’ll need to be ambitious, eager to learn, and remain calm under pressure.
Who you are
You have good values. You have high integrity. You understand why ersity matters and make others feel like they belong. You're low ego and make the workplace more fun for everyone.
You're experienced. You have 2+ years of sales or customer success experience.
You're resourceful. You are a fast learner and have a “get things done” mentality. If you don't understand something you quickly determine what to do to push forward.
You're quality-focused. You understand the relationship between sales & a company's brand. In your outreach, you always prioritize quality and personalization over spam-like sales techniques.
You're organized. You're familiar with modern sales tools and keep pipelines organized. You understand the value of playbooks and constantly try to improve processes.
What you'll do
You'll drive awareness for Portal. You'll identify and prospect accounts (from solo accounting to large law firms and everything in between).
You'll become a Portal expert. You'll develop a keen understanding of the Portal product and value proposition.
You'll prospect. You'll send personalized and creative outbound campaigns to prospects and book qualified meetings for your Sales Manager.
You'll experiment. You'll take an iterative process to build, test, and measure different outbound strategies.
You'll conduct discovery. You'll learn and understand prospects’ business challenges, and articulate how Portal provides value to different customers based on their role, industry, and technical aptitude.
You'll organize. You'll be diligent around Salesforce.com hygiene so you, and other others, can use that data to analyze and report on pipeline health.
You'll learn about startups. Aside from your core work, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in other areas - marketing, fundraising, etc.

About Mutiny
Today companies spend over $1T to bring customers to the door, but $19 of every $20 they spend does not convert to revenue. Companies have no choice other than to dedicate large engineering and data science teams to manually build more relevant, higher converting experiences for different customer segments.
Mutiny is a no-code AI platform that helps marketers convert their top of funnel demand into revenue, without engineers. Mutiny gives marketers everything they need to drive revenue and prove it — from data and analytics to AI-powered recommendations and content writing. We are backed by Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global, Insight Partners, Y Combinator and CMOs from some of today’s fastest-growing tech companies including AngelList, Carta, Gong, Hopin, Salesforce and Snowflake.
About the role
About Mutiny:
Mutiny helps solve every company's most important challenge: growth. Mutiny is a no-code AI platform that helps marketers convert their top of funnel demand into revenue, without engineers. Mutiny gives marketers everything they need to drive revenue and prove it — from data and analytics to AI-powered recommendations and content writing.
The first channels that we’ve started with are websites, landing pages, and sales assets. Mutiny allows companies to dynamically change their websites and landing pages based on a virtually limitless number of visitor attributes (ex: size of company, industry/vertical, $$ raised, prospect vs. target account, persona/seniority, behavioral attributes like 1st time visit vs. repeat visitor, amongst a very long list of others). All of this done with pre-integrated datasources and an amazing no-code visual editor (that you’ll get to use). And lots of other incredible web technology that you’ll learn about.
Website personalization is only our jumping off point. Our ambition is to ultimately help every company in the world to automate their growth engineering across their entire digital buying experience from website to ads to emails to every piece of content in between.
Our founders were early Gusto employees and scaled the company from 500 to 50,000+ customers. They experienced firsthand the limitations of generic online content and the poor user experience it creates. They started Mutiny to allow every other marketer in the world to transform their B2B buying experience without needing a huge growth engineering team of developers, designers, and analysts.
We are backed by Sequoia, Tiger Global, Insight Partners, Uncork Capital, Cowboy Ventures, YCombinator, and CMOs from some of today’s fastest-growing tech companies including Snowflake, Gong, Square, AngelList, Carta, Uber, Hopin, and a dozen more.
What we stand for:
We believe that erse teams have the biggest impact. Our founding team is 50% female and 50% male. We have maintained this same ersity ratio in our investors and are committed to maintaining ersity of gender, ethnicity and thinking in our team as we scale.
In addition to ersity, these values define how we approach our work every single day:
- Work should feel like play
- Faster always wins
- Stir the pot, regularly
- Do the right thing when no one’s watching
- All hands on deck
- But enough about us, let’s talk about you and what you’d be doing at Mutiny.
The role, in a nutshell:
We are looking to an experienced AE to the current high-performing team which means you will be an early team member. You will be in a semi-full cycle role; taking discovery calls to closed won deals. Our sales process has been firmly validated and is highly efficient. The vast majority of your pipeline will come inbound with a low-volume of high-quality outbounding (you will use the Mutiny outbound product to help with this). The quota attainment of all AE's to-date has been over 100% every quarter. Also, no cold calls.
You will be working with B2B digital marketers to educate them on personalization and conversion automation, support them through their evaluation/trial process, and to help them buy a world-class product.
What you’ll do at Mutiny:
- Own the most important metric in the business: net-new revenue
- Work closely with the sales leader and CEO to scale up the already efficient sales process
- Give thorough discovery calls, qualify firmly, manage trials and expectations, and push deals through all the usual closing steps (legal, infosec, procurement, etc.)
- Our lead generation has historically been inbound heavy with highly personalized outbound campaigns for target accounts. You’ll have an unfair advantage for prospecting as you’ll be using the Mutiny product.
- Keep your deals updated in the CRM for weekly pipeline reviews and to prepare hand-off notes to the CX team.
- Be a company and brand advocate: our customers love us and the sales process (yes, we receive compliments on the sales process)
- Support the CX, product, and engineering teams as you receive feedback from prospects to align with product strategy and direction
- Work with our awesome technology and agency partners on joint deals for win-win outcomes
- We have a robust tech stack so you'll have all the resources and support you'll need
- This is a remote friendly role. Bonus points if you're located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What we are looking for:
- 4+ years of closing in B2B SaaS and ideally mid-market/enterprise segments
- Bonus points for martech, sales tech, or web tech experience
- Consistently hits or is above quota
- Bonus points for working at a successful early/mid stage start-up
- Naturally persuasive, curious, and personable with excellent discovery and closing skills.
- Relentless about hitting goals. If one path fails, can quickly find another path.
- Someone is solution-oriented and get things done in opaque, silo'ed, or dynamic internal environments (cough cough enterprise cough)
- Strong written, verbal, non-verbal communication skills, duh.
- A keen interest in helping to efficiently scale an early-stage sales process. Don't let the $50M Series B fool you, we have a lot of building to do.
- High confidence, low ego, and generally a good human being.
Mutiny does not accept agency submitted candidates for this posting.
Technology
Our stack consists of React, TypeScript, Ruby, and Rails. as well as Redis, Postgres, and Elasticsearch for data storage. Our CTO comes from a product and infrastructure background, bringing an engineering first approach to growth technology.
Some of our challenges include:
- Building a privacy-first data store that never shares PII or customer data. We leverage data store policies to ensure there are walled gardens between customers and privacy is respected.
- Architecting low latency data infrastructure that processes millions of events from various data sources to create a unified data layer. We keep latency to a ridiculously low number using a combination of CDN edge caching with Fastly, efficient event processing pipelines, and data store optimizations.
- Building products that expose machine learning infrastructure for automated segmentation, with an incredibly simple to use interface.
- Building efficient content delivery libraries for use in the browser, enabling non-technical team members to easily personalize their website. We make use of native browser APIs for efficient DOM rendering using features like MutationObservers, WebWorkers, and hooks for browser layouts.
Interview Process
- Introduction call with Sales Manager, Bryan, or Chief of Staff, Kelly (30 minutes)
- Technical Sales Session with Sales Manager Bryan (30-60 minutes)
- Virtual Onsite with various Department Leads (~3 hours total) such as the Head of Marketing, Head of Customer Support, Head of Finance and Business Operations

* Work should feel like play
* Faster always wins* Stir the pot, regularly* Do the right thing when no one’s watching* All hands on deck* But enough about us, let’s talk about you and what you’d be doing at Mutiny.
* Own the most important metric in the business: net-new revenue
* Work closely with the sales leader and CEO to scale up the already efficient sales process* Give thorough discovery calls, qualify firmly, manage trials and expectations, and push deals through all the usual closing steps (legal, infosec, procurement, etc.)* Our lead generation has historically been inbound heavy with highly personalized outbound campaigns for target accounts. You’ll have an unfair advantage for prospecting as you’ll be using the Mutiny product.* Keep your deals updated in the CRM for weekly pipeline reviews and to prepare hand-off notes to the CX team.* Be a company and brand advocate: our customers love us and the sales process (yes, we receive compliments on the sales process)* Support the CX, product, and engineering teams as you receive feedback from prospects to align with product strategy and direction* Work with our awesome technology and agency partners on joint deals for win-win outcomes* We have a robust tech stack so you'll have all the resources and support you'll need* This is a remote friendly role. Bonus points if you're located in the San Francisco Bay Area. What we are looking for:
* 4+ years of closing in B2B SaaS and ideally mid-market/enterprise segments
* Bonus points for martech, sales tech, or web tech experience* Consistently hits or is above quota* Bonus points for working at a successful early/mid stage start-up* Naturally persuasive, curious, and personable with excellent discovery and closing skills.* Relentless about hitting goals. If one path fails, can quickly find another path.* Someone is solution-oriented and get things done in opaque, silo'ed, or dynamic internal environments (cough cough enterprise cough)* Strong written, verbal, non-verbal communication skills, duh.* A keen interest in helping to efficiently scale an early-stage sales process. Don't let the $50M Series B fool you, we have a lot of building to do.* High confidence, low ego, and generally a good human being.Mutiny does not accept agency submitted candidates for this posting.

About Arist
Backed by Y Combinator, Acadian Ventures, and Soma Capital, Arist is a text message learning platform helping Fortune 500 companies and large organizations — including DuPont, GE, and the State of California — create, deploy, and assess text message courses.
Our long-term vision is to deliver critical knowledge and training to anyone in the world, regardless of traditional learning barriers, one text message at a time.
What's a text message course?
A series of texts, images/GIFs, and interactive exercises/questions delivered over 5 to 30 days via SMS or WhatsApp. Backed by research from Stanford and Harvard, text message courses see ~10x the completion and satisfaction rates of other learning mediums.
In fact, we view text message courses as a brand-new content medium, with a variety of impactful use cases ranging from preventing misinformation to COVID-19 training in refugee camps to DEI training for startups.
Why text messages?
A majority of the world's population — including frontline employees, distributed teams, and remote audiences — has access to SMS and WhatsApp. Meanwhile, internet access is limited globally, making video courses inaccessible to over 3 billion people, including 30 million Americans.
As well, it can also take months to build a traditional workshop or video course, while text message courses can be built and deployed in a day — by one person — ensuring frictionless transfer of knowledge. Writers have to get to the point, so learners get the most valuable insights, concepts, and case studies.
The best part? 95% of people read a text within 3 minutes. As a result, we help create and deliver content employees love in a way that they will actually read and engage with. Don't take our word for it — try a text message course about text message courses here.
About the role
Arist is the first messaging-based learning platform. Inspired by our founder's work with students from war-torn Yemen and trusted by dozens of leading companies, Arist is pioneering the use of short-form messages that meet learners where they are as a more accessible and effective form of digital learning and training.
Backed by Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, Acadian Ventures, and many others, Arist is now used by 10% of the F500, helping customers create, deploy, and assess delivered all via SMS, WhatsApp, Slack and MS Teams. Over 95% of learners open a message within 3 minutes, leading to adoption rates and learning outcomes several times greater than any other digital learning tool.
Our long-term vision is to deliver critical knowledge and training to anyone in the world, regardless of traditional learning barriers, one text message at a time.
As a Mid Market CSM at Arist, you’ll help define the way we sell messaging-based learning to some of the world’s largest organizations. You’ll get to work with our top customers to help shape and optimize the way they get value out of a brand new type of training employees.
More specifically, in your day to day you’ll:
- Own, drive, and lead the long term client success (renewals and upsell cycle) for your book of business
- Collaborate and work in partnership with your client implementation manager and inherit accounts after they have onboarded, launched, and shown proven success within the platform
- Actively engage with all client POC’s to ensure client delight and success on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis
- Develop a relationship with strategic decision-makers quarterly to identify areas of growth to ensure a seamless renewals process
- Run bi-weekly monthly, or quarterly business reviews, using data and storytelling to identify new use case areas and opportunities within the organization.
- Discover, identity, and close upsell opportunities upon contract renewal, working cross-functionally with the sales organization
You’ll be great for this role if you:
- Have 3-5 years of Sales / Customer Success / Account Management experience preferably within an Enterprise SaaS organization
- Enjoy wearing many different hats and working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
- Have proven success in developing relationships with multilevel POC’s within the same client
- Can source opportunities for inside sales and work with sales teams to maximize client value
- Understand client pain points and can work with product teams to improve our product
- Have an obsession for client delight and leading with empathy

About Roboflow
We're on a mission to remove barriers that prevent developers from building their own computer vision applications. Roboflow streamlines the process of labeling, training, and deploying a computer vision model.
Why
Computer vision is going to transform every industry. We're already seeing this play out in fields like transportation (self driving cars), agriculture (drone spraying), and medicine (early stage cancer detection). But these superpowers shouldn't be locked up in the handful of giant technology companies that can afford to hire teams of machine learning PhDs.
What
Roboflow enables any developer to use computer vision without being a machine learning expert. Our product is the key missing infrastructure that allows developers turn raw images into a useful model -- replacing a sprawling list of one-off utils everyone previously had to reinvent and enabling our users to have working models in hours, not weeks.
For example, Sarah Hinkley from Barn Owl Drones uses vision to identify weeds from crops in drone images so her customers can use fewer herbicides and grow more. She's one of our over 50,000 users working on problems we couldn't even imagine when we got started!
Who
Today, Roboflow has eight full-time team members spread across the United States. Their roles range from machine learning to sales. We also have a high school software development intern, and a part-time employee researching our new signups. Kelo, Amanda's dog, is the best at frisbee among us.
We're united in our common goals to create high quality products and place our users first. Since we're a small upstart, that means building things really quickly and fixing bugs right away. As with any rapidly scaling startup, we hope to build a team that is both versatile and adaptable. This role has tremendous potential for growth. As such, we believe that coachability and enthusiasm are more important than experience or qualifications. If you’re excited about this opportunity, we want to hear from you.
We strongly encourage applicants from backgrounds that are traditionally under-represented in tech to apply - especially those who identify as Black, Latinx, Native American, Asian and/or LGBTQ+. People who identify as part of these groups have also been under-represented at Roboflow, but intentionally recruiting a team with unique backgrounds is one of several ways we are working to add more distinct viewpoints to our company.
Growth
Roboflow went from zero to over 20,000 users in 2020 (and now to over 50,000 in 2021) and our customers are requesting features and product enhancements faster than we can provide them.
We're starting to build out our engineering, marketing, and sales teams. As an integral part of our core team, all roles will inevitably involve wearing a lot of hats; we're specifically looking for people excited about learning new things and filling gaps where needed. And most importantly, we're looking for people who ship.
Resources
Check out our Careers page for more info on the company, how we work together, and how we're building strong culture and camaraderie in a post-COVID world.
About the role
Overview
Roboflow is the fastest way to use computer vision in production. Over 100k engineers build with our tools. Helping our users get the most out of Roboflow is essential to their success. We’re hiring our second Sales Engineer to partner closely with our sales team and drive new customer wins. You’ll have an immense impact on shaping the future of not only this role, but our company. A large portion of the Roboflow sales process is technical, ensuring customers understand how to incorporate computer vision into their products. Building successful relationships with our potential customers -- many of whom are engineers -- as well as showcasing what the Roboflow product is capable of is a key component of the role, so you will leverage both your engineering background and user-facing mindset to be successful.
What You’ll Do
Because our customers use computer vision in so many different industries (accelerating cancer research, improving manufacturing processes, enabling automated checkout, and so much more), your workday will always include an engaging variety of challenges. You will work with sales on delivering demos, building proofs of concepts and prototypes with prospects, and in answering technical questions, assisting in closing deals. You will use your knowledge gathered through sales motions and work with our Customer Success team to determine ways to best drive adoption and successful implementations of computer vision within their products. You will also contribute to the post-sales process (Customer Engineering) in an engineering capacity to ensure our customers are successful throughout their journey with Roboflow. We don’t just stop at signature and onboarding. We want our customers to be life long partners with Roboflow and ensure they are receiving the ROI they envisioned when they first signed on. If you think, “I’m an engineer that loves sharing my work with others,” you’d be in great company in this role.
Who you’ll work with
As an early first Field engineer hire, you’ll be partnering directly with our co-founder/CEO, Sales leadership and Customer Success leadership to not only do great work in the role, but shape how this function works for the future of Roboflow.
In this role, you’ll:
- Support Sales team to assess technical fit
- Demo Roboflow to potential customers, answer questions about Roboflow, ultimately convincing them Roboflow is the correct solution
- You will collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to develop POCs and propose solutions that best fit a customers needs
- Talk with potential customers, understand their problems, and assess whether or not Roboflow is a good fit
- Give presentations to potential customers on why Roboflow is the perfect platform for their computer vision use cases.
- Create technical content to demonstrate best practices (e.g. sample apps, documentation, videos, etc.)
- Dive into our codebase to understand technical limitations in Roboflow that need solving via code (e.g. a bug, a missing feature, etc.) to help close a deal
- Work with sales to develop strategy and building roadmaps for our potential customers
- Help potential customers in performing analysis on their image data to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement through computer vision
- Test and validate new product features with usage and consumption in mind
- Create a repository of reusable artifacts as you build out demos and POC’s, that can be used by customers to accelerate their Roboflow journey
- Work with Customer Success team to improve processes, documentation and the overall customer experience
- Assist our Customer Success team with customers onboarding, adoption and engineering efforts.
The skillset you’ll bring:
- An enthusiastic, strong, technical generalist
- A background in computer science or a related field
- Technical experience in a professional environment, ideally a startup
- Strong knowledge of APIs, building webapps with JavaScript and/or Python
- An awareness of the machine learning development lifecycle (and eagerness to learn more)

Our goal is to build the world's best computer vision infrastructure so our users don't have to. This means we handle a lot of challenging complexities like seamlessly ingesting dozens of data formats, processing millions of images per day, and deploying auto-scaling machine learning infrastructure that can handle our customers' most demanding training and deployment needs.
Our core app sits atop Firebase with assistance from auto-scaling groups of Docker containers (for jobs like archiving datasets and training models). We also heavily lean on serverless infrastructure so we can gracefully deal with bursty traffic involved in manipulating datasets that can range anywhere from one hundred to one million images.
We also maintain a library of Colab notebooks our customers can use to train common computer vision models, a directory of public datasets, and a web of format specifications. We see building and supporting mini-projects like these that are helpful to the community at large as part of our role in democratizing computer vision.

About Zuddl
Zuddl lets large organisations create conferences online that can go live in minutes. We reproduce all aspects of a physical conference from one on one networking to expo showcases.
Existing online conferences often feel like a one-way webinar where attendees have no impact on the outcome. It might as well be a pre-recorded video. On most platforms, all online events look the same. It’s easy for attendees and speakers to forget what they’re attending. Many customisable platforms that do exist take weeks or months to get your event up and running, we do it within minutes.
At Zuddl, we’re building out a library of templates for all of the configurable elements of our conferences. You can build off of existing templates and get your event up and running within minutes. By mixing and matching our different event zones, you can reproduce all aspects of physical conferences online. Discussion tables facilitate organic group networking with easy switching between different tables. The expo zone can be used to showcase partner and sponsor booths. The backstage zone helps you run dry runs to ensure smooth event execution. With Zuddl, you can create fully branded conferences with engaging experiences.

At DigitalBrain we're working hard on helping people spend less time on repetitive monotonous tasks that a computer could do, and instead let them focus on things that matter. DigitalBrain is revolutionizing the way in which operational teams get work done, by developing and deploying more efficient ways to complete activities. You'll be working on cutting edge software with a team of people who are very supportive and collaborative, and care a lot about details.
What problem are we solving?
High growth, fast-paced organizations are constantly and continuously deploying new products, solutions and features - which in turn creates new and complex processes for downstream teams including customer support. These teams become stressed, stretched too thin, and less efficient. Common problems, as simple as performing a refund, often require multi-platform touch points for team members which is frequently solved manually in a very repetitive manner. DigitalBrain creates unparalleled efficiencies in how resolutions are achieved by serving as an enterprise OS connecting multiple platforms that people use, which significantly improves team member happiness and end customer experience.
Why are we solving this problem?
By increasing handle time efficiency, we are improving the daily lives for both internal teams and external customers. Teams are more productive and happy in their day to day - customers are more satisfied. Truly a win-win.
Why are we different?
DigitalBrain easily turns complex, multi-touchpoint processes into one click resolutions, with no internal support required. Compared to other workflow optimization technology partners, DigitalBrain provides customized, white-glove solutions that do not require any internal experts and/or technical support in order to deploy solutions within weeks.
Join us for the revolution:
We have years of runway to grow and support you on your journey. Founded in 2020, DigitalBrain has raised $20M in funding, most recently in an unannounced Series A round in February 2022. We are backed by the best top tier funds and the leading CEOs of public companies.

About Portal
At Portal, we're building Shopify for Service Businesses. Our mission is to power the next generation of modern service companies. We help marketing agencies, accounting firms, and many other types of businesses to sell and deliver their services online.

Other investors include Y Combinator, Liquid 2, Tribe, Addition, Slope, YC partner and Scribd founder Jared Friedman, former SVP Product at Lyft Ran Makavy, and Pipe founders Zain Allarakhia and Josh Mangel.

About Culdesac
Our cities should be celebrated. They have been the largest driver of innovation in human history. But somewhere along the way, things broke and our quality of life suffered. We built our lives around our cars as cookie-cutter housing popped up around the country. Sprawl became commonplace, and we normalized hour-long commutes, even as private vehicle ownership became the largest source of carbon emission pollution. We became more isolated and felt less connected to each other. It doesn't have to be this way.
We're building cities for people, not cars. Our team blends technology, real estate, and culture to reimagine our daily lives. We come from different backgrounds to bring a fresh perspective on what's possible. As a team, we keep a pulse on our community and what they need. We ride our e-bikes to lunch, host pop-ups on construction sites and make 16-acre cornstarch art pieces. We cultivate these relationships and bring our community closer together so they can experience the neighborhood they deserve.
About the role
Culdesac's mission is to build cities for people, not cars. We're the first post-car real estate developer, and our goal is to build the first car-free city in the US. We're starting with the first car-free neighborhood built from scratch - that's Culdesac Tempe, a 1000-person neighborhood.
All of this draws from a core insight: the way we move defines the way we live. And the way we move is changing fast, with countless ways to get around today beyond private cars. Here's more.
Culdesac is growing our team and looking for a People Operations Generalist to help with our mission.
How you will make an impact:
As a People Operations Generalist at Culdesac, you will be an integral part of building a sustainable and forward-thinking People & Operations team. You will support all HR functions and work with both external and internal stakeholders. You will be part of a company that uses our erse skills to create beautiful harmony between tech, real estate, and mobility.
How you will be successful:
- Looking around corners to plan for our future People Operations needs as a company while maintaining and iteratively improving experiences and processes in the here and now.
- Stewarding and constantly improving elements of the employee lifecycle; especially in Talent Management, Employee Engagement & Culture, and Benefits.
- Championing a best-in-class team culture and adding delightful touches throughout the employee life cycle and in our physical/virtual team spaces.
- Partnering with the broader team to facilitate, communicate and implement HR programs, policies, and other rollouts that both support business goals and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinating subject matter experts in HR, compensation, benefits, legal, and business leaders to ensure proper execution of policies and practices.
- Designing and maintaining process documentation, streamlining operational processes, and researching and providing recommendations on new technologies and services that enhance operations and the employee experience.
What we're looking for:
- You have strong problem solving skills and work well with tight deadlines.
- You are scrappy, self-motivated, and willing to roll up your sleeves to execute on the details of a plan or process that you designed at the strategic level.
- You are an excellent communicator at all levels and across erse functions within the organization.
- You handle confidential and proprietary information with utmost care
- 5 years of professional experience
- You prioritize a lifestyle leveraging public transportation, micromobility, and other alternatives to private cars.
- Able to support team on Mountain, Pacific, and Central time zones.
Why you'll love being a part of the Culdesac Team:
- We work as a team: We are inclusive, drawing on the strengths of people who bring a different perspective. We find ways to work together that overcome disciplinary and geographic separations.
- We are driven, humble, and ambitious: Our mission is to build cities for people, not cars. We are doing this through hard work, asking for feedback along the way, and seeing our work through to the end, including the last 10%.
- We have a caring, supportive, and honest culture: We get to know one another, we support our community together, we have fun together, we even have Culdesac talent shows!
- We are revolutionizing the real estate landscape: Are you ready to be part of this transformation?

We are committed both to the health of our employees and to promoting a safe and collaborative workplace, and vaccinations are the best way to end the COVID-19 pandemic and to protect our community. In the U.S., where permitted under federal and state law, all offers of employment will be conditioned upon new hires providing proof of vaccination prior to their start date, unless the inidual qualifies for an accommodation. For all other locations, vaccinations are strongly encouraged.
