Do you wish your work had greater tangible impact? Join Anima (YC W21), and you can have your cake and eat it too: we pay upper quartile for salary + equity, and you'll help to solve super interesting technical problems that will save lives.
We’ve gone from $0 ARR to $1m ARR in 6mo from our April 22 launch! Recently we’ve been growing around 300-400% MoM! Our NPS is 87, we’ve never churned a clinic and we’re growing very efficiently - we’re profitable with infinite runway. We’ve gotten here through being design-led and UX obsessed. We see every line of code as building proprietary UX that leads to user love and pricing power. We care so much that all our engineers chose to become proficient in Figma :)
Hi - I'm Shun, a medical doctor and CEO of Anima. Thanks for checking out our job ad! We’re tackling a problem that has affected everyone in some way.
1. Globally, millions die every year because their medical problems aren’t treated quickly enough. Hundreds of millions suffer pain, worry and discomfort needlessly because of long waiting times.
2. We’ve built ambitious software to automate the entire healthcare workflow - from history taking consultations, to report abstraction, to recommending & saving a coded action plan for the patient, ready for a human doctor to greenlight.3. By doing this, we get patients optimal care within 24 hours and 10x the clinical workflow in the process.Backed by a top 1% VC 🚀
We were one of the hottest companies of YC’s W21 batch: we raised over $2.5m before Demo Day within 4 days, led by Hummingbird (consistently top 1% of global returns), giving us a runway of 4+ years. We are pretty unique among health techs: we have both medical and engineering domain expertise. I wrote the first backend in Node, 80% of which is still used, with no major vulnerabilities found from recent pen testing. As a doctor and former HM Treasury health policy advisor managing £4bn budgets in UK health spending, I have full stack domain knowledge and personal experience of the problem we’re solving.
Our mission is to deliver precision medicine to everyone in the world, within 24 hours. We know exactly how to get there and we’re moving ferociously with focus.
Join a design-led company where incredible UX is at the core of every line of code, and everything we do
Great design is built our DNA: Rachel, co-founder and COO, heads the design of all our products. Our thesis is that code **serves****** UX - ideally proprietary UX that users are willing to pay a lot for. We care a lot - we always build clear UX directed graphs (sometimes called user flows) and Figma mockups before beginning architecting or writing a single line of code. We close the loop by using our UX DiGraphs as E2E testing models. We care so much that all our engineers chose to become proficient in Figma :)
We’re looking for visionary designer leaders and architects who can think from first principles and have high growth potential - great decision makers who deserve to have complete autonomy and are forces of nature when empowered with it. At the same time, we are deeply collaborative, and through mutual and self-challenge, we converge towards the optimum, and decisively execute. We are united by child-like intellectual curiosity and experiment and wander freely when the right path isn’t clear. We believe all future managers should be formidable ICs & domain experts.Decisions are never made in isolation by the founders. All information is transparently available to the whole team on our Notion - every meeting, decision, success, failure. Anima is a safe refuge for everyone to share their honest thoughts, feelings and be their complete unfiltered self. We offer unlimited holidays and flexibility over work schedule and location.
The quickest way to get your creations into the hands of users
When everyone is UX obsessed, it’s much easier to stay on the same page & execute rapidly. This means we have a super short latency from ideation to real usage - here are two recent examples:
*
Rachel, co-founder and currently leading design, talked to power users and discovered a critical need for multiple organisations to able to join the same real time multiplayer dashboard. She mocked up a new dashboard in Figma with our engineers, getting async feedback from power users throughout (our users are generally very fanatical and helpful!), and we got it shipped within 5 days!\
*
Alex (Clinical Engineer), realised that there was a need for care teams to communicate internally and with outside collaborators, and helped Rachel create UX flows and mockups for a game changing feature where virtual care teams could discuss cases and see a single source of truth for the patient history. We managed to get it shipped in 4 weeks!\
Does this sound like you?
* Hungry and wants their shot to change the world - a force of nature when empowered with the tools, resources and development to do it.
* Bored and frustrated at big companies; feel held back by red tape, bureaucracy and poor decisions.* Keen to understand the big picture & entire context of the company and vertical; has a sense of urgency for growth towards a senior executive role.* Have hacked together a cool project in the past, that did something useful, and want to relive that feeling of accomplishment (everyday!).* High sigma product intuition and empathy - an uncanny ability to intuit the deepest anxieties and opportunities for user joy even with minimal user research.* Obsessed with optimising UX: quickly able to understand the needs of our users and translate deep anxieties and latent opportunities for excitement and joy into optimal UX flows.* Exceptional attention to detail & an eye for aesthetics that ensure a careful & thorough approach to Figma mockups.* An excellent communicator: concisely and clearly communicate designs to the team both verbally and through the materials you produce (sketches, wireframes, prototypes etc.)* Able to understand and distil complex concepts & processes and make them accessible for our users in the form of simple, elegant user flows and interactions.* Able to work in an iterative design process, guided by user feedback & company goals; motivated and energised by group critique.* Seeks to maximise not only self productivity, but combined team productivity, communicating the right things at the right time through the right channels (verbal/Slack/Notion).* Intellectually curious and loves learning - able to tackle entirely novel challenges that lack prior precedent through applying strong design fundamentals and first principles thinking, creatively using the best tools for the job to maximise user delight.* Familiarity with Figma and/or hungry to learn. We don’t enforce any particular experience level, but you’ll need to demonstrate most of the above through past projects and/or our assessment process.
Our current stack & what to expect from the role
Here is some information on our technical stack in case you are interested (this may not make much sense to you - that's okay!): we are tech agonistic, and collectively choose the best tools for the job. We’re constantly looking to maximise our productivity and minimise what we call “discounted dev time cost” for shipping features. We have 2 separate fully functional web apps in prod: one for clinical users and one for patients. We have good functional & unit test coverage and we recently implemented an advanced CI/CD pipeline which supports golden screenshots and automated frontend tests. We primarily use Figma for our mock-ups & wireframes.
We’re looking to add talented product designers who are hungry and understand the urgency and importance of what we’re doing for society.
First month - some examples of what to expect:
* Work with our engineers and sales team to identify, create and implement the user flows that make using Anima a delight for both doctors and patients.
* Design and implement creative solutions that improve the clarity and comprehension of our 2 apps, and our website.* Join customer calls to develop a deep understanding of their fundamental motivations and needs/pain points.Next 6 months - some examples of what to expect:
* Lead on the design and implementation for our flagship features, including building out our video consultation offering & seamlessly incorporating integrations with NHS APIs into our UX.
* Collaborate with engineers to apply insights from user cohort & A/B testing to inform decisions about feature selection & design.* Hire/scale the team, while implementing the right processes at the right times to maximise discounted team productivity and maximise user delight.6+ months - some examples of what to expect:
* Potential to transition to a more managerial/executive role.
* Define and formalise our design standards, and grow and scale our design tools and processes so we keep rapidly shipping features that result in a high retention delta.* This is a permanent role: things get even more exciting down the line!To apply:

About PopSQL
Every company wants to use data to make informed decisions, and SQL is the lingua franca for data. However, data collaboration is broken. People are rewriting each other's queries, switching apps to visualize their data, and copying/pasting SQL into Slack.
PopSQL solves this by creating a beautiful, fun way to write SQL, visualize data, and share results. The product is loved by data teams from over 2000 companies including Target, Redfin, and Udacity. What we've built so far is just the beginning. Join us and build a great product, a great culture, and a great company 🚀
About the role

A majority of your time will be focused on communicating with PopSQL’s paying customers. Your main focus will be on our Enterprise and Business customers and you’ll be asked to use what you learn from those conversations to create automated messaging for low touch paying customers and trials.
In working with customers you’ll be tasked with building relationships, helping customers use PopSQL to its fullest potential, and gathering feedback for our product team. As we release new features you’ll work with the product team to define how they fit into PopSQL best practice and which customers would be our best early adopters.
In addition to your core responsibilities as a customer success manager, you’ll be working with the rest of the customer success team to build a foundation we can build on as PopSQL scales. That includes email templates and sequences, improving customer reporting in our own PopSQL organization, and creating resources for future CSMs to use. We are still defining and improving core processes like business reviews, new user training, churn prevention, expansion opportunities, and renewals. You will play a key role in creating the culture and priorities of the customer success team.
Responsibilities
* Foster relationships with customer contacts at all levels to build trust and open up lines of communication for product feedback and expansion opportunities.
* Gather direct and inferred product feedback from customers and work with the product team to understand how things can be improved with new product features or by improving existing features.* Identify growth opportunities by digging deep during conversations with customers and understanding their process and pains.* Proactively identify risks to the customer achieving their stated business goals and build risk mitigation plans.* Take diligent notes during calls with customers so we can share with stakeholders and follow up with customers in a timely and thorough manner.* Define and improve PopSQL best practices and how PopSQL fits into the data stack to share with customers and internal stakeholders.* Create content and automations that guide customers at each crucial moment in their customer journey, and as new product features are released.Minimum Qualifications
* You have a passion for using data to solve problems. You’ll be using data every day to understand how customers use PopSQL and you’ll be talking about data stacks and best practice in every customer conversation.

In addition to function-specific skills, here are some traits that enable our team members to thrive:

__Bright is a venture-backed startup building the solar operating system to power every home and business across the world_._ Our platform allows home, and business owners to easily adopt solar with no initial investment. In doing so, we’re enabling rapid solar adoption and pioneering a sustainable energy future.
We're looking for someone interested in having an impact far beyond pixels on a screen, or rows in a database. We believe global warming is one of the most important challenges in our lifetime, and Bright provides a unique opportunity for you to use engineering skills to make a serious impact. The process for homeowners to adopt solar power is unnecessarily complicated, and the industry, especially internationally, is young.
This is an incredibly unique opportunity as we’re growing very quickly as the market leader but just getting around to hiring one of our first dedicated front-end engineers. We’ve operated lean and this is a one-of-a-kind role for someone who wants to be early but is looking for a low-risk opportunity that will certainly have an impact on the world.
Today, Bright is installing 5 solar installations every day all across Mexico with software acting as a coordinator for all the parties involved. Similar to Airbnb, Uber, or OpenDoor - software is our core strategy - and we apply it to almost every team - from logistics, to finance, and customer success. With projects ranging from marketing chatbots to solar monitoring (IoT) integrations, to logistics optimization - there is never a dull moment.
We’re looking for someone who:
1. Has 5+ years of professional frontend experience. You’ve led development in large projects, and have built stuff from the ground up.
2. Has professional experience with React and React hooks.3. Has the ability to create good enough user experiences without having a UX designer available.4. Has fluency in technical English (Spanish is a bonus).5. Is pragmatic, can prioritize, and say no when needed.6. Has prior startup experience, and ideally, product intuition.7. Is comfortable communicating and working with non-engineers (we work with almost every team at Bright in some capacity - from interns up to the CEO).Nice to have experience with the following tools/technologies:
1. GraphQL
2. Typescript3. Figma / InVision4. Product analyticsOur frontend stack:
1. SPAs
2. React3. Tailwind CSS4. Material UI5. GraphQL (Apollo)6. Retool (as the front for many internal tools)Our backend stack:
1. Node.js (Typescript) as REST and GraphQL server
2. Go for special-purpose tasks3. PostgreSQL + PostGIS4. EC2, S3, and SQS on AWS5. RedisYour tasks and responsibilities will be:
1. Spearhead building new capabilities and evolving our current ones for various web platforms: (customers, local solar partners, operations).
2. Own buildout of our marketing site (Gatsby + Strapi).3. Create digital experiences for many different user roles. For example “your technician is arriving” with views for customers, third-party technicians, and the internal Bright operations team.Design / architect / implement web platforms for homeowners, business owners, local solar partners, and financiers.Plenty more unknown challenges we haven’t faced yet!Benefits:
1. Ability to work from anywhere within a 3-hour time difference from CST.
2. A fun, high-caliber team that trusts you and gives you the freedom to be brilliant.3. The opportunity to learn first-hand about the distributed generation regulatory scheme in Mexico while being a part of a high-growth startup.4. Unparalleled learning – We have access to an amazing list of advisors and investors with whom we actively engage on this project.5. Awesome work environment - all input and ideas matter to us.6. At Compose AI, we help people type less and live more. Isn't it crazy that people are still typing every word of every letter on 99% of the websites and programs they use every day? That's why we built the best-in-class autocomplete, but we didn't stop there—Compose AI also lets you rewrite your sentences in different tones or styles and can even generate whole paragraphs and other pieces of copy. We are a fast-growing team backed by YCombinator, Craft Ventures, Sequoia, along with founders from Kayak, Hubspot, Vercel, and Honey. Join us in our mission to make AI an extension of the human.
Job Description
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Compose AI, you will own projects from 0 to 1 as we continue to launch new products and features. This is not the typical ML engineer role. We are working on core innovations to the way people use their computers on a day-to-day basis. Reinventing the way people interact with text can be subtle and precise, and there are often no instruction manuals for how to do so.
You will be creating unique NLP / ML models that push what is currently possible. For example, working on creating a personalized model for every customer in a cost-effective way. Doing personal question answering. Fulfilling users’ requests before they even ask. Neural search, etc.
Requirements
* 5+ years experience with ML
* Experience with NLP (Natural Language Processing)* Strong communication and documentation skills* Excited about rolling your sleeves up on solving difficult engineering problems* TensorFlow, Torch* Mathematical background* Ability to productionize modelsIdeal Candidates
* Experience working at an early-stage startup (< 25 employees)

Come and join Verdn as one of our founding engineers as we grow our 3-person team! We're looking for ambitious programmers who are excited by the idea of having an instrumental impact on both our product and the environment.
In a nutshell...
Verdn is an API that lets companies pledge to sustainable causes with one POST call. Companies use Verdn to pledge with things like product sales (e.g. 5 trees planted with every T-shirt sold) and high-value user actions (e.g. 2kg ocean-bound plastic recovered after finishing an e-learning course).
We also transform the post-pledge journey for our client's end-users — by giving each one of them a unique tracking dashboard where they can follow along with where, when, and how their impact happens. See an example here.
About you
* 🌍 You want your code to make a positive change to the world, and are eager to join a small, growing team where you can influence the trajectory of the product.
* 🔨 You have ~3+ years' experience building web applications with React and Node, with major contributions to project planning and deployment.* ⚡️ You've created RESTful APIs using best practices, and have an understanding of how to implement SSR.What the job involves
* You'll have a high degree of autonomy to work on new features for our web apps (React and Next.js) and endpoints for our REST API (Node.js).
* We like to iterate on our product quickly, so you'll be part of rapid prototyping and release cycles across the stack.* Because we're a small (but ambitious) team, you'll have a huge amount of influence on the product's direction, and an opportunity to see how the whole business works.* We're strong believers in refactoring and performance, so you'll have time to maintain, improve, and test our different services.* If it's a good fit for you, you are in a great position to manage others over the course of the next year as we grow our engineering team.P.S. There'll be time for fun, hacky things like building internal bots, creating feature ideas from experimental web technologies, and exploring technically ambitious demos.
Our stack
We work exclusively with TypeScript / JavaScript on both the back and front end. We use Firestore as our database.
Our web apps include:
* Shopify app (Next.js)
* Impact-tracking dashboards (Next.js)* API dashboard (Next.js)Our back end includes:
* API service (Node.js)
* Cloud functions (Node.js)",
