Gymdesk provides modern, online management software to gyms, martial arts schools, yoga studios and other fitness and wellness businesses. In an industry dominated by outdated and cumbersome products, we provide the superior user experience people expect in 2023.
We are looking for a PHP developer with mobile / Flutter development experience, to join our team and help us continue to improve our web and mobile apps.
You should love managing complexity in elegant ways, and creating beautiful user interfaces that hide that complexity in the backend. The product is mature, but is constantly evolving / adapting based on new use-cases and user feedback.
About the role:
You will be join a small but effective team, as our 5th dev team member. You'll receive training on the stack, platform and flows within the software. Gym management might not sound complicated, however there is a lot of complexity hidden behind our shiny UI, as we account for many different use-case that you likely have never considered as part of running a gym. Regardless of your past experience, we believe this will be a worthy challenge.
About the team:
Gymdesk is a small and effective team (currently 12 people). We don't have office politics and try to minimize the amount of interruptions you will have to deal with. We are a remote team that communicates mostly through slack and video chats as needed. We use Github to manage our repos, tickets and sprints.

A growth mindset. You want to challenge yourself to grow as a developer and inidual contributor and take on new responsibilities and acquire new skills.
Solid experience with web technologies including HTML5, CSS, vanilla Javascript and jQuery

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
And most importantly, a natural ability to get stuff done
Compensation:
This is a full-time, 40-hour a week role
Annual salary of $85k-$115k depending on skills, seniority and fit
Health and dental reimbursement plan (pick your own insurance) for US based employees
20 PTO days a year, in additional to national holidays
Home office improvement budget
If you’re excited about creating software that looks beautiful on the front end and elegant on the back end, give us a shot. We’ll do our best to make the interview experience fast, enjoyable, and mentally stimulating.
If we don’t get a chance to speak with you, thank you so much for your interest, and hopefully there will be a better opportunity down the line.
We are Harley Therapy - established in 2006, and well-known as London's premium mental therapy providers. We have a team of highly experienced psychotherapists, clinical and counselling psychologists and psychiatrists in central London. We also run the Harley Therapy Platform, which is the UK’s leading mental therapy platform with therapists practising from their own rooms UK-wide.
We are a small team with big ambitions, and we are looking for a mid-level developer with equally strong skills in Ruby and JavaScript, and multi-year experience with Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, and CSS.
We use islands of JS and React, but experience with React is not necessary, as a good developer with good JS skills will be able to pick it up quickly. We like to use the right tool for the job, and only reach for React when the UI and UX will benefit.
This is a full time position, working remotely (GMT~5) to help improve all our software and websites, and in one case, help us rebuild the administrative system that helps our amazing admin team to manage clients and therapists.
You will have a hand in everything, and as we are a very small team, and you will also have a say in everything related to the technology side of the company. This also means that you will be expected to take responsibility for the entire stack from server to client. It will be common for you to be asked to build a new feature, right the way through from spec, UI, server, client, and of course deployment (we host on Heroku, with PostgreSQL, Sidekiq).
You will be an eager and passionate developer that loves what you do, and a fast learner that can hit the ground running without needing much of a hand to hold. A love of open source software would be a great benefit to you - and us.
This is a full time position, with great pay, and we will be happy to have you on board on a contract or employment basis.

Are you tired of being told what to build by clients who don’t understand software or trying to change the world in a ‘fast-paced venture funded startup’? If you’re nodding your head, read on.
I’m looking for someone to join a team of one. Yes, one. You’ll be the technical lead designing, building and supporting our app. You’ll work closely with me (the founder) on building something our customers want while enjoying what we’re doing. I’m looking for a collaborator to take the lead on the technical side of the business. We’ll debate ideas and try to find a balance between adding features and improving performance & security.
I’ll talk to customers, do the marketing, and we’ll collaborate on designing features. You’ll build it, launch it quickly and we’ll measure the results and do it again.

You’ve been working for at least 5 years either for clients or a startup and you’re looking to do something where you have more control over what you’re building while having fun with your work. Maybe you’ve flirted with building your own app before but weren’t able to get it to make enough money and you’re excited about the idea of working on a business that’s working and you can enjoy some of the upside. See more about that below.

- The app is self-funded and there’s no venture capital or board of directors breathing down our necks. We’re doing what we want, the way we like to do it, and we’ll continue to do it that way.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and improve the front-end and back-end components of our web application with our tech stack: Javascript/Typescript, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
- Collaborate with the team (just me!) to rapidly design and implement new features and functionalities with a focus on growth.
- Balance speed with code quality to ensure we can move quickly without sacrificing stability or performance
- Manage and optimize the performance of the web application including DevOps activities like deployments & performance monitoring on Heroku.
- Design system architecture that can be easily maintained and scaled as we grow
- Troubleshoot and debug when issues arise using tools like Sentry and New Relic
Your Background
- At least 5 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer, ideally in an application with active customers or users.

Mission
As we are growing our activity in Campaign Digitization (planification and implementation of health campaigns – vaccination, distribution of health-related items, etc.), patient-level monitoring, health facility registries and performance based financing, mainly in Africa, we are in need of additional help to lead the development of Iaso, our open source platform dedicated to these activities.
Description of the platform
Iaso is an open source platform for planning and monitoring data collection adapted to low connectivity environments. It was created to support geo-based data collection efforts, mainly for public health programmes in Lower and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) contexts.
It supports the management of a master list of health facilities and health zones/regions with geographical information, which are then used to structure planning, data collection, and completeness monitoring at each relevant level. Iaso mobile data collection tool can be used to update and enrich this hierarchy with additional GPS coordinates, name corrections, etc., which can then be validated by upper levels.
The tool has been used in multiple data collection efforts, notably in the domain of performance based financing of health services and improvement of national geographic data in education and health in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger, Cameroon and Nigeria. It serves today as well in large scale projects in partnership with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and the World Food Programme.
Iaso is a mature and widely implemented software being constantly enriched by the real use cases of more than a dozen projects. It is also extensively used in connection with DHIS2, the widely used open source Health Management Information System in LMICs.
Iaso consists of a white labeled Android application using Java/Kotlin and reusing large parts of the ODK projects and a web platform programmed using Python/GeoDjango on top of PostGIS. Frontend is mainly React/Leaflet. One of the aims is the ease of integration with other platforms. We already have csv and geopackage imports and exports and target easy integration with OpenStreetMap.
Role & responsibilities
