We are a digital health company focused on bettering care and accelerating cures for patients with ALS. We are hiring for our first full-time Marketing position, reporting directly to the CEO. At this early stage, you will have a great impact and will be responsible for cultivating our company voice, developing unique and compelling content, devising and implementing growth strategies, and synthesizing site and marketing analytics.

ALS is a 100% terminal illness affecting roughly 6,000 new people per year in the U.S. alone. The care system for this highly complex disease is broken. Every ALS patient needs specialized care, though many never gain access to a specialist. Novel therapies are even harder to come by. Although there are many active clinical trials, by the time most patients get diagnosed and are deemed eligible for trials, they have progressed too far to qualify and are deprived of potential therapies.

Synapticure is on a mission to change that. We’re reinventing the end-to-end experience for patients with ALS and, eventually, for those with other neurodegenerative diseases. We’re currently transitioning from a collection of Single Page Applications to a Ruby on Rails application that uses Hotwire to rethink how modern real-time web applications work. Oklo works to design, build, and operate clean power plants using advanced fission.  There are an incredible number of use cases and existing interested customers for the Oklo offering of “fission as a service.”  Oklo needs someone to manage these relationships and negotiate term sheets, etc, while growing the existing customer base and prioritizing the nearest term customers.

This role involves more than theoretical strategy development and is aligned with managing existing relationships as well as developing relationships as well as a willingness to create content and oversee a team and work closely with the Oklo executive team.

The person in this role may benefit from a technical background, but one is not required.  Similarly, the person in this role may benefit from a background in finance.  At minimum, a basic understanding of financial documents, project financing strategy, customer contracts and negotiation will be expected.

Keeper Tax is looking for a freelance component designer (ongoing contract). Your job will be to design and maintain a beautiful component library for our app.

Our current component library was built by non-designers… so don’t laugh :) We did our best to just copy material as much as possible.

We are in the middle of a rebranding ending in August, and when that’s complete we’d like to also kick off an overhaul of our component library (that’s where you come in!).

You can expect the work to consist of two parts - setup, and maintenance.

Setup means taking the rebrand output and applying it to an updated component library and applying it to our existing surface area (no UX changes - only components UI and visual) - this will be a big project on the order of 40+ hours spread across a month. We are primarily mobile so you’ll care most about iOS, Android, and mobile web. You’ll also need to document interactive states.

By maintenance we mean collaborating with our product managers to create new components that meet our user needs and make our design system more robust. i.e. Should we make a custom component to solve this problem, reuse an existing one, or modify an existing one? This should be ~5 hrs per week on average.

The Role

You'll be working closely with our systems engineering and design teams to ship a core product that will define the future of the business. You will own the charter for performance benchmarks, long-running deployments, CI, and releases. In addition, you will help layout sustainable practices within engineering to continually raise the quality bar. In this role, you will be the customer voice within engineering.
